Sustainable & Local – Franconian by Nature
For us, sustainability and regional identity are not just buzzwords — they are part of our everyday life as a family-run winery. We strongly believe that responsible and sustainable practices are the key to preserving the future for generations to come.
Alongside many small things that have naturally become part of our daily work — such as producing our own firewood, using reusable packaging, supporting local products and suppliers, and actively reducing our carbon footprint through our traditional orchard meadows — we are also a member of the “Ethos” sustainability network.
A Sustainable Winery – Creating Good Things for Others
For us, sustainability goes far beyond avoiding herbicides in the vineyard, protecting bees, or treating our vines with care so they can thrive for generations. It also means creating a positive working environment for our team and contributing to a good quality of life within our local community.
With more than 300 traditional orchard trees, we actively promote biodiversity, help preserve the unique Franconian landscape, and support the wellbeing of both people and wildlife.
We also believe strongly in supporting local businesses and producers. Regional partnerships matter to us: shorter transport routes, local craftsmanship, and genuine appreciation for the people behind the products.
Ethos – 12 Winemakers, One Shared Philosophy
“We never take more than nature can give back.”
That idea lies at the heart of Ethos — a group of 12 Franconian winemakers united by a shared commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and respect for tradition.
Together, we prove that collaboration does not dilute quality — it strengthens it. By combining teamwork with time-honoured winemaking methods, we create something truly unique: the Ethos Silvaner.
